Why I Use Infolinks for in-text Advertising

Share

There are hundreds of ways to monetize your website, and what works for one site might not work for another. So when in doubt, just test it. But I use Infolinks on about 10 of my websites right now, and so far I am very happy with the program. No, it is not going to pay you as much as Adsense, but as long as it does not take away or lower my CTR with Adsense it doesn’t matter. It’s just extra money that I would not otherwise have.

There has been a Kontera vs Infolinks debate going on for a while, but from what I have seen Kontera traffic has really taken a hit and the payouts per click are pretty measley. Not that Infolinks clicks pay a lot. But again, it really depends on what your website is about and how many advertisers there are on your niche. A financial niche for instance will be able to roll in higher numbers and bigger money with each click than a blog about teddy bears.

Here is how Infolinks works

You simply put the code on your site and the script will read through all the pages on your website and find keywords that advertisers are bidding on. These keywords are then turned into links which will pay you when a user decides to click on one of them to check out the advertiser’s website. This is called in-text or contextual advertising.

You can choose a category for each website you use with Infolinks, but I don’t see much of a difference in these different categories.

Infolinks is flexible.

It takes about 5 seconds to put it on your blog, and for those WordPress lovers out there, there is an Infolinks plugin that makes integration even easier.

You can determine how many keywords are turned into links and what color those links will be and if the links will be underlined or double underlined. The most Infolinks links you can have on a page are 12 and you can go as low as 1 link per page.

The Newly Added Tag Cloud and Related Tags

Infolinks now adds even more integration enhancements. At the bottom of each post you can opt to have a tag cloud. And you get paid for each click just like with the other links. The related tags work in the same way but the links are smaller than in the tag cloud.

All you have to do is mark a check box to get the tags or related links added to your site, but if you want more control over where the tags show up you can just paste the code into your page or theme editor.

Sign up with Infolinks here!

What I like about Infolinks is that it does not take away from any of my other monetization strategies. I have not seen any decline in Adsense earnings and it is compatible with Adsense so you won’t get into trouble.

There is a great ebook that talks about a great strategy for monetizing your sites. It’s called the 3 ad system and it explains how to integrate Adsense ads, Clickbank products, and Infolinks advertising into your sites so you can make as much money from your website or blog as possible.

If your site is getting any traffic at all you can be making money from it, so I recommend the 3 ad system with my shameless affiliate link if any of you are trying to find more ways to monetize your sites.

This is David, from Kontera.

I found your blog interesting.

I wanted to address some of the points you raised in this post.

In relation to Kontera traffic taking a hit, in contrast we actually continue to grow and are featured by more publishers and on more total pages than ever before. We currently have more than 15,000 web publishers, which gives a reach of over 170 million unique users per month.

As per your question about our payouts for CPC, we give 70% revenue sharing. the highest in the business.

While Kontera is the best in-content solution for most publishers, because our ads are geo-targeted, depending on the region preferences of advertisers, and depending upon the subject matter of your site, your performance will vary.

Your best bet is to contact me at davids@kontera.com so we can give you an honest of assessment of what Kontera can do for your site.

Additionally, Kontera is so effective for so many different people, thanks to our Synapse platform, an algorithm that rather than just scanning for keywords like other in-content companies do, can read your text for actual meaning. This added understanding allows us deliver relevant information and ads directly related to user intent, leading to higher CTR and better CPC.

Another advantage of Kontera is our exclusive ad inventory from some of the biggest brand names in the world including Audi, UPS, Verizon, American Express, BlackBerry, Dell, L’Oreal, Yoplait, and many more. These premium, often Rich-Media ads are the most attractive to users, offer the best possible CPC, and are only available to Kontera Publishers.

If you’d like to apply to become a Kontera Publisher, we’re currently offering new publishers a $50 Bonus if you get at least 25,000 U.S. page views during your first 30 days on the network. Kontera also offers a low $50 minimum threshold, good across all of our payout methods.

Thanks

infolinks are much better than kontera, as they pay well and easy to add the website.
Approve the website even for smaller traffic sites
